Larry Martin, 76, of Florence, MS passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon surrounded by his family. The service will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence on Friday, March 2 at 11:00am with visitation from 10:00-11:00am. There will also be a visitation on Thursday, March 1 from 4:00-7:00pm. Interment will be in the Garden of Memories Larry was born, August 8, 1941, to Claudie and Margie (Copeland) Martin in Philadelphia, MS. He was a graduate of Neshoba Central and East Central Community College. After graduating, he then served in the Army National Guard. During these years, he met and married Peggy Marie Anderson of Philadelphia, MS and were married for 54 years until his passing. Larry worked and retired from Entergy in 2005 with over 40 years of service. One of his greatest passions, besides his family, was his love for coaching in the Forest Hill Youth Club. He coached for many years and touched many lives. They touched his life just as much. He was also a member of First Baptist Church in Florence. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Claudie and Margie Martin and sister, Sherlon Martin Stubblefield. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Martin; brother, Don (Billie) Martin; sons, Scott (Melissa) Martin and Steve (Stacy) Martin; grandchildren, Jessica, Jordan, Logan, Tyler, Tori, Nolan and Isabella; great-grandchildren; Landon and Dawson. He will be greatly missed.
