Larry Gene Newcomb went home to be with the Lord after a lengthy battle with cancer, May 18, 2023. He was 75 years old. He was surrounded by his family during his last days. Larry was born to Worley Newcomb and Lillie Brooks Newcomb July 29, 1947, in Tyronza, AR. He married Nina Grammar in 1971, she was truly the love of his life and he always put her first in their marriage. He couldn’t have asked for a better life with her. They were so proud of their 3 beautiful children and made sure to tell them so every chance they got.
Larry treasured his time with his brothers and sisters and their families. Larry worked hard all his life to provide for his family and to make sure they had every necessity in life. His sweet mother instilled in him a work ethic that he held to until his last days. He was a warehouse manager for many years until his retirement. His in laws, Royce and Christine Grammar loved and adored him and he was honored to help them and watch over them until their last days. All his hard work and time he put into his family is a testament of how a father and husband should be. When brain cancer set in slowly it robbed him of so much in his last days and he always longed for more time with those he loved.
He adored his grandchildren and had a special bond with them. As each of them were born, he sang Elvis to them, and it would always calm them and put them to sleep. He had quiet a singing voice and sounded a lot like Elvis.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Mr., and Mrs. Worley Newcomb; a son, Ronnie Newcomb; his 2 brothers, Jerry Newcomb, who was his twin, and Bobby Newcomb; and a sister, Sherry Wright.
