LaVerne Young McInnis, 88 died at home on September 23, 2016. Called Billie by her family and friends, she was born in Martinsville on April 13, 1928 to Albert Young and Ethel Till Young, the last of their seven children. She graduated from Crystal Springs High School and worked in Jackson before she was married there on November 13, 1949, to Robert Kenneth (Jack) McInnis, her partner of 67 years. Billie had the attitude of Christ in that she loved people, believing that in the worst of us there was some good and in the best of us there was some bad. She never met a stranger and if you had ever met her, she left an impression that you wouldn’t forget. The joy of her life was having her family together. She is survived by her three children, Gary (Gayle) McInnis (Clinton), Glade (Emily) McInnis, (Clinton), and Deena McInnis (Raymond), her eight grandchildren, Paul McInnis (Colorado), Bryan (Jessica) McInnis (Alaska), Kimberly McInnis (Florida), Hannah McInnis (Missouri), Sean McInnis (Clinton), Michael Ray (Donna) Robertson, (Alabama), Zan (Kaitlin) Hare, (Alabama) and Savanna Hare (Raymond) and her four great grandchildren, Ava, Jackson, Tyler and Wilder. Visitation will be 2-4pm Sunday, September 25, 2016 and 9am until the 10am funeral service Monday, September 26, 2016, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram.
