Mrs. Laverne Roberts

Laverne Roberts, 84, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, MS. Due to the current pandemic, the family will have a private funeral service. Laverne was born to JP and Gladys (Hux) Turnage on February 01, 1936 in Hermanville, MS. She was a member of the Siwell Church of Christ. In her spare time, she enjoyed pencil sketches, word puzzles, bird watching, and writing poetry. She became a published poet in 2008. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karla Joan Griffiths. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Claude Johnny Roberts, who she lovingly called Honey; sister, Gwyan Turnage Covington; son, Claude Johnny “Skip” Roberts, Jr. (Jolene); daughter, Lori Lynn Price (Ken); grandchildren: Jacob, Josh, and Jason Roberts; Mathew, Ashley, and David Price; Lyndsey Griffiths Turner; and Crystyn Griffiths; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
