Lemelia Boone

Lemelia Johnston Boone died from a heart attack on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, MS. She was 83 years old. Visitation will be Monday, January 16, 2023 at 10 am Johnston Chapel UMC, 2093 Chapel Drive, Summit, MS 39666. Funeral services will follow at 11 am with interment at the same location. Her son, Rev. Kelvin Boone, will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tyler Boone, Anthony Ballard, Braden Boone, Bryson Boone, Trace Abdul-Hadi, Zach Tillman. Honorary pallbearer will be Ryan Boone. Lemelia was born in Summit, MS to Benjamin (Benny) Thomas and Eula Williams Johnston. She was the 12th of 12 children. Lemelia is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Richard Boone. She is also preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Flora Freeman, Clyde Johnston, Eva Kenna, Geraldine Reid, Erma Stockton, Glen Johnston, Jewel Johnston, Elwin Johnston, and Lois Johnston. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Tina) Boone and Kelvin (Rhonda) Boone. Grandchildren are Ryan (Phuong Nguyen) Boone, Tyler Boone, Holly (Anthony) Ballard, Braden Boone, and Bryson Boone. Her great grandchildren are Levi Ballard and Zoe Boone. She is also survived by siblings Floyd and Bryant Johnston as well as, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. This is the youth camp that her grandchildren attended and continues to spread the gospel of Christ to middle and high school students.
