Mrs. Lena Mae Tilghman

Lena Mae Curry Tilghman was born February 24, 1921 in a small community outside of Grenada, MS. Lena passed from this life at her home in Byram, MS just two weeks short of her 96th birthday on February 10, 2017. Lena is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Coats and her son William Coats (Faye). Also, her parents, four sisters and a brother. Lena is survived by her daughter Ann Knight (Ray, deceased) of Covington, La, seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Lena's last moments were spent surrounded by her loved ones singing hymns and Praising her Lord. Her family is extremely blessed to have learned many valuable lessons from her long life of experience, and will hold dear to our hearts the memories we have. From sewing us beautiful dresses to snapping beans and shelling peas, to cooking lessons and singing lessons. You were so good to us. Until we see you again one day MawMaw ... "Member we love." A graveside service will be held in memory of Mrs. Lena at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Utica, MS on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 11:00am.
