Ms. Leslie Wilson Smiddy

Leslie Wilson Smiddy, 89, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Mississippi State Hospital. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 9 am until the 10 am funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow in Florence Cemetery. A native of Gulfport, Mrs. Smiddy spent most of her life in Rankin County in the Florence area as a homemaker. She was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church. Mrs. Smiddy is survived by her son, Michael Smiddy of Florence; daughter, Janice (Buddy) Statham of Leander, TX; brother, W.R. “Buck” (Opal) Wilson of Florence; and 2 granddaughters, Lora Statham and Shelley (Jess) Baldwin.
