Lillard "Becky" Chandler

Lillard “Becky” Chandler went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 3, 2023. She was 77 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with the funeral service starting at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Richland, MS.

Becky was born on June 10, 1946, to Robert and Louise Melcher Lawrence in Ackerman, MS. She retired from Gray-Daniels after 38 years where she was a warrant administrator. Becky was a hardworking wonderful mother raising four children. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Becky loved to read romance novels and playing pool. She enjoyed traveling and taking cruises with her sister and friends.

Becky is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Rodney Waites, and Timothy Cook; brother, William Lawrence; and sisters, Bethene Hood, and Debra Bauer. She is survived by her son, Robert Waites Jr. (Kimberly) of Brandon, MS; daughter, Beth LaFont (Steven) of Florence, MS; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
