Linda Thomas Fletcher, 72, of Florence went to her heavenly home early Friday morning March 13, 2020. Visitation will be from 5:00—7:00 p.m. Monday, March 16 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and again from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17. There will be no graveside services. Linda was born to the late Jay S. and Lorraine Hale Thomas in 1947. She grew up in Clinton, MS and was a 1966 graduate of Clinton High School. She was a member of the former Congregational Methodist Church of Jackson where she gave her heart to the Lord as a child. Linda retired from the MS Highway Patrol after being employed as a license examiner for twenty years. She loved music and enjoyed playing the piano, but her favorite past-time was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored with all her heart. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clinton and Sallie Fletcher. She leaves behind her loving husband of thirty years, Prentiss Fletcher of Florence; a son, Curt (Sarah) Fletcher of Florence; two daughters, Michelle (Wayne) Passons-Haley and Sondra (Mark) Eady, both of Crystal Springs; one brother, Kenny (Pam) Thomas of Raymond; three sisters, Katherine “Kathy” (John) Thomas of Alaska, Deborah (Bubba) Thomas-Harrison of Raymond, and Vickie (Frank) Thomas-Kuhn of Clinton; grandchildren, Krysty, Andy, Presley, Payton, Tammy, Kristi-Jo, and Katie-Beth; numerous great-grandchildren; extended family; a host of friends; and last but not least, her beloved, faithful companions, her puppies, CoCo and Shadow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
