Mrs. Sue Goodman passed from this life into the arms of Jesus Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Sue was one of five children born to George Luther Welch and Ethel Blair Welch of Mendenhall, MS. She was a beloved aunt, a wonderful sister, and friend. All who knew her, loved, and adored her. She had a servant’s heart and was always showering her family and friends with gifts. She was an active member of Lakeshore Congregational Methodist Church in Byram, MS. She was a reliable and dedicated employee for many years with Owens and Minor Medical Supply. She always went above and beyond for her employer and coworkers. Even when her health was failing, she was still giving of her time and efforts to help others.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 37 years, William “Don” Goodman; and her brother, Charles Edward Welch.
She is survived by her 3 sisters, Betty Bradshaw(Joe) of Pearl, Peggy Arender(Bobby) of Terry, and Pat Davis(Larry) of Florence; and a brother, G.L. Welch(Paula) of Braxton. Along with those left to cherish her memory are 11 nieces and nephews, 24 great nieces and nephews, 1 great, great niece, and a host of friends and relatives.
Her family will receive friends for a visitation at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 5-7pm and Friday, April 7, 2023, at 1-2pm. Her funeral service will be Friday, April 7, 2023, at 2pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS, with burial to follow at Lodebar Methodist Cemetery in Pelahatchie, MS.
