Mr. Lloyd Patrick Gilmore

Lloyd Patrick Gilmore,78 , passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 at his home in Terry. Visitation will be 5-8pm Thursday, August 10, 2017 and 9am until the 10am funeral service Friday, August 11, 2017, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Lloyd was born in Jackson, MS to the late Lloyd Tucker Gilmore and Katiebelle Patrick Gilmore. He grew up in the Clinton area and attended Clinton public schools through high school. He attended Mississippi State University and was an ardent bulldog fan and football season-ticket holder for many years. At the beginning of his career, Lloyd worked with the Corp of Engineers. He retired after 36 years of devoted service from Entergy, serving as Senior Right of Way Agent. Lloyd loved helping others with projects in the neighborhood. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer from a very young age. Survivors include his wife, Janet Simmons Gilmore; son, Steve Gilmore and wife Ginger Gilmore of Chamberlain, SD, step-son, Bob Allen and wife Gracie A. Allen of Torrington, CT; siblings, Richard Joseph Gilmore and wife Sue of Williamsburg, VA and Charles Gilmore and wife Shirley F. Gilmore of Brandon, MS; grandchildren, Mandy Gilmore of Chamberlain, SD, David Gilmore and wife Staci of Columbus, GA, April Gilmore Shows and husband BJ of Brandon, MS, Belle, Jacob and Chloe Allen of Torrington, CT; great grandchildren, Raelyn and Harrison Gilmore of Columbus, GA and Peyton Shows of Brandon, MS.
