Mrs. Lorraine Wood Taylor

Lorraine Wood Taylor, 86, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family Friday, September 11, 2015 at Wisteria Gardens in Pearl. Visitation will be Sunday, September 13th from 2-5 PM and Monday, September 14th from 10 AM until the 11 AM Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl. Mrs. Taylor lived in Pearl since 1953 and was a charter member of First Baptist Church in Pearl where she was a Sunday School teacher for over 40 years. She was retired from Blue Cross/ Blue Shield where she was over special claims and later was the secretary for Wastewater Controls. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, Emmitt and Hassie Wood; brother, J.L. Wood; and daughter-in-law, Mary J. Taylor. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert O. Taylor of Pearl, son, Tom (Pat) Taylor of Florence; grandchildren, Chip (Kelly) Taylor and Trey (Catie) Gunn both of Florence; and grandchildren, Mary Elise and Jake Taylor and Taylor Grace and Olivia Ann Gunn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to FBC Florence Bereavement Fund or FBC Pearl Home Bound Meals.
