July 16, 1928 — April 14, 2025

Louie Woodward, devoted husband of sixty-seven years to Rosie Woodward, father, brother and grandfather passed into heaven on April 14, 2025.

Mr. Woodward was born to Eunice Hydrick and Eddie Woodward on July 6, 1928. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rosie Woodward, his son Ricky Woodward, and his brothers. He is survived by his son Randy, his granddaughter Amy, his grandson Ricky, his grandson’s mother Myra.

Louie served his country as a member of the Armed Forces of the United States, including the Departments of the Army and Air Force and the National Guard. As a young man, he bravely served in Germany and Western Europe after World War II as a member of the Military Police, providing a pivotal service in the Allied effort to make the world a safer and more just place for the American values of Freedom and Liberty. He was a paratrooper as well.

Louie Woodward was a member of the Greatest Generation who fought not for fame and recognition, but because it was the "right thing to do.” He was known for his kind, gentle heart by his family, friends, and congregation.
