Louis Lamar Butler\ Florence\ \ Louis Lamar Butler, CPA, JD, 78, died at University of Mississippi Medical Center on Monday, October 18, 2010. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from 1-2pm at Chancellor Funeral Home Chapel in Florence. A Graveside service and interment will be at 2:30pm in Wesleyanna Cemetery off Seventh Day Road in Star, MS.\ \ Louis is survived by two children, Zachary L. Butler and his wife Dana of Spring, TX; and daughter, Elizabeth (Penny) Butler-Harvey and husband, Barry of Brandon, MS. Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Jo-Ann Davis Butler (2010) and daughter, Bridget Butler (1957).\ \ Louis completed his degree in Accounting at Southern Adventist University (Collegedale, TN) along with an advanced degree in law from MS School of Law (MC School of Law; Jackson, MS) while working full-time with the Internal Revenue Service in Jackson, MS. Louis was also the CFO for W.G. Avery Co. for a number of years then returned to the IRS prior to his retirement in 1994.\ \ In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Louis' life to your favorite charity.
