Louise Lovene Evans,known to friends and family as Lovene, passed away on May 16, 2024, in Terry, MS. She was 83 years old. Born on August 5, 1940, in Wiggins, MS to Lloyd Cecil Mallett and Thanie Coker Mallett. Lovene lived a life full of love, kindness, and dedication to those around her.
Lovene dedicated many years of her life working as a secretary at the Boys and Girls Club, where she touched the lives of so many with her warm smile and caring nature. She was known for her unwavering commitment to her work and her ability make everyone feel welcome.
A faithful member of Oakview Baptist Church and Berea Baptist Church, Lovene found solace and strength in her faith.
Those who knew Lovene will remember her as a kind-hearted soul with a passion for life. She had a close-knit group of friends with whom she enjoyed playing games and solving puzzles. Her generous spirit and infectious laughter brought joy to all those fortunate enough to know her.
In her free time, Lovene pursued various hobbies that brought her immense joy. From collecting tea pots to crocheting and sewing, she found creativity and fulfillment in these activities. Cooking was another one of her passions, especially when it came to preparing delicious meals for her family and friends who meant the world to her.
Lovene is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Kenneth E. Evans, and a brother, Cecil Mallett.
Lovene is survived by her three sons: Tim E. Evans (Paula) of Raymond, Stephen Evans (Lori) of Carthage, Brad Evans (Cindy) of Terry; one daughter: Tonya Cashion (Joe) of Puckett; a brother: Gerald Mallett of Wiggins; and a sister in law, Sharon Evans of Perkinston; along with 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by her love and warmth.
Services will include a Visitation Monday, May 20, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 pm and a Funeral Service on Tuesday 10:00 am all to be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Hickman Cemetery in Perkinston, MS.
