Peacefully went to her eternal home on Monday, December 5, 2016. She was at home with her family who she loved dearly but who received more love in turn. She was such a selfless, giving person not only to her family but her neighbors and friends. Mom loved to fish and although she couldn’t see the cork, she could feel it when it moved and was ready to set the hook. She also loved to sing, especially the old Baptist hymns, and her alto voice added beautiful harmony. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Florence for many years until her health prevented her from attending. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack E. and Annie Mitchell of Clear Branch, brother Carl Mitchell and sister Belva Bridges from Florence. She is survived by her brother Billy Mitchell (Mary Lou) from Terry, her children Ronnie Hemphill (Fran) from Braxton; Peggy Hemphill Sweat (Johnny) from Florence; Lester Hemphill from Richland; Eddie Ray Henry (Tracy) from Natchez and Mike Henry of Florence. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family is having a private graveside service and in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Trinity Baptist Church in Florence, MS or St. Jude Children’s Children Research Hospital. The family would like to send their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people at Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland. “To the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever.” “Amen” Jude 1:25
