Louise Neely died at home on Thursday, July 3, 2008 of ovarian cancer. Over the years of dealing with this illness, Louise was strengthened by her abiding faith and the love of her family and friends.\ \ Louise had lived in the Florence community all of her adult life. \ \ She was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church. Before her retirement in 2002, she had worked there as a church secretary for 39 years. Louise was active in the community through her church work, as a member of Friends of the Library and as a twenty five year member of the Florentine Club. She was co-owner of Delectable Palate Caterers and enjoyed making any event she catered unique and special.\ \ Louise dearly loved and was dearly loved by her family. She will be remembered especially for her hospitality, her giving spirit, her kindness and her tireless efforts on behalf of her church, community and family.\ \ Louise was preceded in death by her husband Glynn. \ \ She is survived by her daughters, Karen Travis (Philip)and Lauren Shields (Rod), six grandchildren and 1 great grand child. and recently found that another great grand child was on the way. She is also survived by her mother, Kate Ainsworth, her brother, Charlie Ainsworth (Ruthie), her sisters, Ina Mae McLeod (Pete) and Beth Miller (Tommy), seven nieces and nephews along with their families and many friends.\ \ Louise had especially requested that a special thank you be expressed to Dr. Gerry Ann Houston, Dr. David Wahl and the team of many healthcare professionals who had provided treatment and care to her over the years of her illness.\ \ Visitation is 5-8pm on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Chancellor Funeral Home Florence with her funeral service being held at 2pm Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Marvin United Methodist Church\ \ Memorials may be made to Marvin UMC 211 N.
