Florence

Loys Joan (Joanie) Bridges passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from this painful life to see the hope of her faith, Jesus Christ.

Joanie was born in Scott County on May 28, 1936, to Mary Lou and Theron B. Wallace. She was raised in Scott County and Pearl, Mississippi. Joanie was a graduate of Pearl High School and Mississippi College and then served as a teacher and administrator for schools in Pearl and Brandon for over 25 years. When she retired, she loved to travel but she also loved to be with all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Many things brought her joy, friends, family, and homemaking. She gave of her time and money, and she supported and loved her whole family. Many things also brought her pain and struggles in this life, but in all of this she always had a firm faith, and she was always willing to share it. She persevered in those struggles of her walk of faith and thus left a Godly legacy. She was a faithful member of Pearson, Brandon, and Flowood Baptist Churches.

Joanie is preceded in death by her parents and a brother. She is survived by a sister, brother, three children, eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
