Lucille H. Norred\ Clinton\ \ Modess Lucille Norred, 85, died Friday August 14, 2009 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 2-5pm Sunday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and 9-10am Monday prior to the 10am service at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Dry Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. \ Mrs. Norred was born in Lula, Ms a daughter of the late Mode Lucian and Weina Myrtle Adcock Hawkins. She was a retired LPN. She loved gardening, sewing and being outdoors. For many years she used her talents to grow and arrange the floral arrangements for worship services and activities at Dry Creek Baptist Church where she was a member. She was very family oriented. The highlight of each year was the Williams/Hawkins Family reunion which was celebrated on the 4th of July.\ She was preceded in death by her sister Lorene Hollis and brothers Walter Hawkins, Shelby Hawkins and Sam Hawkins. \ Survivors include her husband Don Devon Norred of Clinton, sons and their wives Danny (Carol) Williams of Clinton, Kenny (Karen) Williams of Atlanta GA and Don (Elethia) Williams of Smyrna, TN., daughters and their husbands Becky (Oliver) Moore and Linda (Larry) Collett of Clinton, brothers Joe R.(Sherry) Hawkins of Indianola, MS and Leo Hawkins of Walterboro, SC. Survivors also include 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Dry Creek Baptist Church, 1201 Gunter Road, Florence, MS. 39073.
