Lula Mae Tillman-Glaze

Lula Mae Tillman Glaze retreated to her Heavenly home and into the loving arm of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in Florence, MS. She was 101 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 with interment following at Briar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Lula was born on April 7, 1922, to Thomas Coor and Lula Bell Horne Coor in Jackson, MS. She moved from Jackson to Florence in 1966 where she was an active “Magic Club” member of Briar Hill Baptist Church. She worked for Wilkinson 555 and Uniroyal Firestone. Her hobbies were crocheting and quilting. She was even a member of a quilting club. Mrs. Lula was also the caretaker of the family. She had a servant’s heart, and she will truly be missed.

Lula is preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles Tillman Jr.; husbands, Charles Tillman Sr. amd James Glaze; grandson, Danny Tillman; and her sisters, Margaret Slayton, Polly Ott, Elma Burney, and Jean Agnew Terwilliger; brothers, Thomas Coor, Albert Coor, and Harry Coor; and 2 infant brothers. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Tillman of Florence; grandson, Charles Tillman III (Danette) of Florence; stepson, Dr. Lamar Glaze (Juanice) of Hattiesburg; granddaughter-in-law, Elizabeth Tillman of Florence; 6 great granddaughters and 3 great great grandsons.
