Mable Earl Ellison

Mable Earl Ellison of Star, MS went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 15, 2025.

Mable was born in Thomastown, MS on August 12, 1931, to Mary Catherine Young and P. D. Young. She attended Thomastown High School. She was a member at Star Baptist Church. Mable married E. L. Ellison on April 20, 1946. They were married for 59 years.

Mable is preceded in death by her husband, E. L. Ellison. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara A. Dyess (David). She has 3 grandchildren, Todd Dyess (Kim), Jason Dyess (Kelli), and Allison Flynn (Matt). She has 12 great grandchildren, Maddie Dyess, Emma Garner (Cruz), Julia Dyess, Seth Dyess, Sadie Dyess, Stella Dyess, Noah Flynn, Eli Flynn, Joshua Flynn, Lilley Payne, Paxton Payne, and Jag Payne.

Her surviving siblings are James Young (Gwen), Betty Whitmire, and Carolyn Bryant (Cecil). She is preceded in death by her parents, P. D. Young and Mary Catherine Young; brother, Lamar Young; and her sisters, Frances Kennedy and Jean Foster.

Visitation for Mable will be from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with burial following at Star Baptist Church Cemetery in Star, MS.
