Mae Wedgeworth Irwin, 82, entered into eternal peace on Monday, January 20, 2014 following a brief illness. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2014 and 12noon to 1:00 PM Friday, January 24, 2014 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 24, 2014 with burial to follow at Lakewood Cemetery in Jackson, MS. Mae was born on May 27, 1931 to Nancy Catherine & John Wiggins of DeKalb, MS. Married to the love of her life, Jack Joel Wedgeworth, at the young age of 14. Together they raised four daughters and were an active part of the community of Jackson, MS, as they owned The Cotton Bowl Bowling Alley and Restaurant as well as Baker’s Restaurant. She was a lover of country music and spent a great deal of her time simply enjoying her family and friends. She will be remembered most for her kind heart and gentle spirit. She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Wilkinson & Rex of Byram & Diane Brazzell & Raymond of Bossier City, LA as well as her 7 grandchildren & 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nancy & John Wiggins, her sisters, Dollie, Versie, & Johnnie Bell as well as her brothers, Cliff, CP, & David. She is also preceded by her husband of 32 years, Jack Joel Wedgeworth as well as her two youngest daughters, Debbie Lynn McLain & Judy Ann Toombs.
