Mae "Bud" Vance

Mae “Bud” Ellis Vance passed away Friday, July 1, 2022 at Brandon Nursing and Rehab. She was 96 years old. Bud was born in Harrisville on May 30, 1926 to the late Holland and Mamie Bridges Dear. Her parents preceded her in death as well as, her husband, Burton Lewis, Sr., her sisters Lottie Barrett, Sally Greer, Wilma Bridges, Gettis Paul and Mary Lou Arender, children, Tommy Lewis, Dwight Lewis and Joan Letz.

Bud is survived by husband of 37 years, Clark Vance; a son, Burton (Paulette) Lewis, Sr. of Hattiesburg, sisters, Anita Smiley, Barbara Mullins and Grace Shivers, 5 grandchildren, Michael Lewis, Melanie Whitaker, Monica Bridges, Tonya Hudson, Toby Letz and Jack Letz, great grandchildren, Bradley Whitaker, Rylee Bridges, Coleman Lewis, Caroline Whitaker  Mae Bridges, John Hudson, Ryan Hudson and Laura Cameron as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence on Tuesday July 5, 2022 at 11 AM. The visitation will begin at 10 AM until 11 AM. Interment will be in Antioch immediately following the service.
