Mr. Major Leroy Lea, 77, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at his home in Clinton, MS. Visitation will be Monday, October 19, 2015 from 5pm until 8pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS. The funeral service will be held at Southside Assembly of God in Jackson, MS on October 20, 2015 at 2pm with visitation beforehand at 1pm. He was a pharmacist for 46 years and retired from Mr. Discount Drugs in Jackson. He was a devoted husband and father, always putting his family first. Major came to faith in Jesus Christ at an early age. Out of a desire to serve Christ, he impacted so many lives by opening his heart, his home, and shared all he had. He was by far the greatest man his family and friends had the pleasure of knowing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Purvis and Myrtle Lea; and his brother, John Paul Lea. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Myrna Lea of Clinton; sons, Ronny Lea of Clinton and Bobby Lea of Mobile, AL; daughters, Pam (Kyle) Grillis of Wesson, Jamie Welch of Raymond and Tammy (Stokes) Patterson of Ooltewah, TN; brother, Billy Ray (Betty) Lea of Flowood; sister, Marge Galle of Dallas, TX; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; as well as 9 nieces and 13 nephews.
