Major Frank B. Lammons, USAF, Retired, 84, went to be with the Lord on June 29, 2008 at the VAMC in Jackson, MS of heart failure. Visitation will be 5-8pm Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be at 11:00am Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Rosemont Gardens.\ \ He was born in Monroe, LA on November 2, 1923 to Frank Barksdale and Annie Taylor Lammons. He grew up in Natchez and Raymond, MS and graduated from Clinton High School. He joined the Army Air Corp in April 1942. He served in the 5th ARUF/WWZ during WWII. He made the USAF his career in the Intelligence Service. He retired in 1964 after 21 years. He went into the service station business, having owned and operated several stations around the Jackson area. Frank married Lucy G. Maughan in July, 1944 and they were married for 56 years. They raised four daughters. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a deacon, and served on the Landscape Committee until his health became an issue. After selling his home in Jackson in 2003, he moved to the Waterford in Ridgeland.\ \ Mr. Lammons is predeceased by his wife Lucy, Grandson, Troy C. Holcomb, Parents, sister, Ada Morgan, son-in-law, Mickey Dunn.\ \ He is survived by daughters Debbie Cabell (Frank) of Madison, Cindy Dunn of Jackson, Diana Lammons of Whitfield, Andrea Lammons of Richland, brother, Wallace Lammons (Dot), grandchildren, Michael Dunn, Sherry Clendenon, Scott Dunn, Tommy Holcomb, Tiffany Holcomb, Zachary Holcomb, Melissa Harrison and nine great grandchildren.\ \ Memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
