Malcom “Mac” Joseph Bordelon, age 83, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

Mac was born in Pineville, Louisiana to Eva Ducote Bordelon and Sgt. Ivy Bordelon. He grew up in Marksville, Louisiana and graduated from Marksville High School. After graduation, Mac enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country from 1960 – 1966. He bravely fought in the Vietnam War and was later awarded the Good Conduct Medal on November 21, 1963. After his military career, Mac worked as a salesman for Kellogg’s and later worked as a district manager for Valley Food Services.

Mac was widely recognized for his unwavering passion for bowling and his steadfast commitment to the Jackson community as the proud owner of the iconic Cotton Bowl Lanes from 1981 to 2012. Under his stewardship, Cotton Bowl became a beloved home to countless competitive bowling leagues and one of the nation's largest annual tournaments, the Summer Sizzler. Mac’s devotion to the sport extended well beyond the lanes of Cotton Bowl; he traveled across the country, earning an impressive collection of trophies, titles, and accolades for his skill and love of the game.

When Cotton Bowl closed, he turned his energy to working alongside his daughter and granddaughter at the Law Office of Monique Brown-Barrett, where he remained until 2021.

Beyond his business endeavors and bowling career, Mac found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He cherished the vibrant jazz music at Pat O’Brien’s with his beloved wife, Ann, and upheld the cherished traditions of The Old Absinthe House, a legacy spanning three generations. A devoted New Orleans Saints fan, Mac eagerly engaged in spirited conversations about sports with family and friends. Mac’s love for family was deep, and he eagerly anticipated his yearly trips to Jetty East in Destin. There, he could often be found enjoying coffee on the balcony or a glass of wine under the pavilion, always by “his grill,” cooking up amberjack and Sexton’s fresh catch of the day.

Mac was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Kelly, father, Ivey Bordelon, stepfather, Orney Kelly, daughter, Lisa Bordelon Lanier, son, Tommy Case, daughter, Monique Brown-Barrett, daughter, Ava Snell, and great granddaughter, Evie Schruff.

Mac is survived by his wife, Ann Snell Bordelon of Madison, his children Kelley Evans of Irving, Kevin Bordelon of Jackson, Tim Case of Madison, Mary Case of Jackson, and Wayne “Mark” Snell of Miami, as well as his 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He also is survived by his cousins Rachel Pruett of Atlanta and Gayle Griffin of Marksville.
