Mrs. Mamie Sue Myers, 81, passed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, February 7th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Following the visitation, there will be a Graveside Service at Florence City Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Mrs. Myers was born September 21, 1938 to the late Thomas and Janie Ross in Florence, MS. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Florence. She loved her church and taking care of others. She enjoyed volunteering, gardening, and cooking for her family, but her passion was her grandchildren. She worked as a fiscal assistant in the Division of Urology at UMMC for over 21 years before retiring. She was also a proctor for M.C. School of Law. Along with her parents, Mrs. Myers was also preceded in death by her sister, Ann Stringfellow. She is survived by her sons, Randy (Melissa) Myers of Florence, Kevin Myers of Florence, Jack (Cindy) McKinley of Florence, and Haley McKinley of Star; grandchildren, Kaci A. (Rustin) Myers Moak, Austin Myers, Ethan McKinley, and Evan (Olivia) McKinley; brothers, Thomas E. Ross of Westpoint and Bennett (Peggy) Ross of Florence; and her extended family, Jody Donald of Jackson and Kenneth Leggett of Jackson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Research Hospital in her memory.
