Mrs. Marcelle Gardner Hemphill

Marcelle Gardner Hemphill, 91, passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 at her home in Florence. Visitation will be 9:30am until the 11am funeral service Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Smith Cemetery in Florence. Mrs. Hemphill was born in Amite County to the late Junius A. Gardner and Lydia Moore Gardner. She was a homemaker and longtime resident of Hickory Ridge, where she was a member of Hickory Ridge Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 72 years Albert Hemphill of Florence; sons Hugh Douglas (Fay) Hemphill and Alton (Betty Jo) Hemphill all of Florence; sister Pauline Moak of Summitt; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
