Marie Ledbetter Muse went to be with the Lord and her husband James Paul Muse; parents, James Clester and Mary Lay Ledbetter; in-laws, Mose Lee and Mary Elizabeth Hisaw Muse and a child Rotha Nell Muse, on Thursday, August 6, 2009 from Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.\ \ She was born in Calhoun City, MS on December 11, 1923, growing up on plantations in the MS Delta. She married and lived 33 years in Newton County, MS and presently lived in Byram, MS.\ \ Survivors are 4 children, Paula Muse Jones, James "Duck" Muse, Ruthie Muse Woyner, and Sylvia Muse Dooley; brother, Jamie Ledbetter; sisters, Lucille Hastings and Maxine White; 11grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren; 12 in-laws and many relatives and friends.\ \ Visitation will be 6-8pm Friday, August 7, 2009 and 9-10am Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Funeral service will begin at 10am Saturday in the funeral home chapel, followed with burial at Union Cemetery, Newton County, MS.\ \ Mrs. Muse has requested no flowers be sent but donations may be made in her name to Country Woods Baptist Church at 6737 Siwell Rd, Byram, MS 39272. \
