Marilyn Darnell Banes Daniel, 75, passed away on Wednesday, March 02, 2022 in Byram, MS. Visitation will be held at Wynndale Baptist Church in Terry, MS on Saturday, March 05, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Raymond City Cemetery in Raymond, MS. Marilyn was born in Raymond, MS on April 24, 1946 to the late Edwin Banes and Josie Ellis Banes. A graduate of Raymond High School, she retired from Siemens Energy as a supervisor. Marilyn married her husband, Ken Daniel, on August 05, 1972. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2010 and they are now celebrating 50 Golden Years in Heaven together. Marilyn was a strong, stubborn woman with a larger-than-life personality. Like it or not, she always told it like it was. Doing the right thing was important to her and she always spoke the truth. But Marilyn also knew how to make people’s worries go away with laughter and was fiercely loyal. A member of Parkway Baptist Church, she loved Jesus and taught her children with Biblical morals and ethics. She was a great cook, especially banana pudding, and fed as many people as she could. She also enjoyed dancing, gardening, and canning. Marilyn loved out loud and will be dearly missed. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Aubrey Banes and sisters, Patty Mae Dodson and Carolyn Nuckolls. She is survived by daughters, Patti Lewis (Kyle) of Byram and Tammy Lauderdale of Fulton; brother, Charlie Banes (Geraldine) of Raymond; sister, Gail Reid of Raymond; four grandchildren, Katie and Madie Lewis and Cody and Kinsey Lauderdale; and one great-grandchild, Mae. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wynndale Baptist Church Benevolence Fund at wynndalebc.com.
