Mrs. Martha Jo Grice

Martha Jo Comer Grice, 89, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation will be Friday, July 15th from 5-8 PM and Saturday, July 16 from 1 PM until the 2 PM Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park South. Mrs. Grice was born in Cedar Bluff, AL and was a longtime resident of South Jackson before moving to Florence in 2011. She was a longtime member of Faithview Baptist Church and was retired as a Labor and Delivery technician from Hinds General Hospital after 27 and a half years. Mrs. Grice is preceded in death by her loving husband, Hollis Grice, son, Kenneth Dutton; great grandson, Ryan Studdard; parents, Lindsey Oscar and Maggie J. Comer; brother, Oscar Comer; sister, Henrietta “Jake” Carmon; and sisters-in-law, Joan Brown and Patsy Comer. She is survived by her sons, Leon Dutton (Lisa) of Florence and Eddie Dutton (Amelia) of Milner, GA; daughters, Dell Rollins (Dale) of Brandon and Holli Jean Rester of Lumberton; sister, Annie Ruth Roe (Clifford) of Cedar Bluff, AL; 9 grandchildren, Heath Grice, Sonya Thrasher, Shelby Hunter, Shannon Dutton, Jennifer McLendon, Madalyn Janssen, Patrick Rollins, Marc Rollins, Brandie Howington; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Hospice Ministries.
