Martha Virginia Hix

Martha Virginia Hix passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, July 7, 2023. She was 85 years old. The family will have a graveside service on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.

Martha was born on February 22, 1938, to Elwin and Ethel Watkins in Lena, Mississippi. She worked for GE as a Production Operator. Martha was a very giving and kind woman. Everyone that she met she would say, “I Love You”. All the nurses and staff that took care of her at Willow Creek she loved dearly. She loved her family. Especially all her grandchildren. She wanted them with her all the time. She made sure that they were happy when she had them. Martha loved to read her Bible. She would write down scriptures that had meaning to her. She will be missed.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milton Hix; sister, Becky Hardy and brother, Phillip Watkins. She is survived by her daughters, Delaine Clark (James) of Florence and Denise Whitten of Grenada; son, Greg Harris of Brandon; sisters, Regona Pigg of Alabama, and Peggy Weaver of Canton; brother, Junior Watkins of Canton; grandchildren, Justin, Jennifer, Amanda, Trey, Blake, Kaylin, and Lexi; and 8 great grandchildren.
