Mrs. Marthajo Gaston Bacon

Marthajo G. Bacon, 85, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Mrs. Bacon was born in Lexington, MS on October 19, 1928. She was a resident of Raymond, MS where she has resided for the past 41 years. She is a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Retiring from Jackson Public Schools, Mrs. Bacon was active in many civic organizations. She was a founding member of the Metro Exchange Club, a charter member of the Knife and Fork Club and a member of the O.E.S. (Order of the Eastern Star). She was preceded in death by her husband; Richard H. Bacon and brother; Walter P. Gaston. She is survived by her children; Genny (Eddie) Henderson of Madison, MS, Janet B. Holloway of Russia and Angela (Tommy) McKenzie of Raymond, MS, John Bacon of Raymond, MS :6 grandchildren; Ryan Holloway, Jennifer Russum, Lauren Henderson, Andrew Henderson, Jonathan Bacon and Joseph Bacon and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Chancellor Funeral Home , Byram, MS from 2-5pm and Monday, February 17, 2014, from 10-11am with Funeral Service starting at 11am. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.
