Mrs. Mary Burney

Mary Elizabeth Collins Burney, 87, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Jacquith Nursing Home. Visitation will be 11am until the 1pm funeral service Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Lakewood South. Mrs. Burney was born in Duck Hill, MS to the late Joe and Bessie Caddess Collins. She was a homemaker and member of Crystal Springs Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband John A. Burney, Sr. and parents, and brothers, James Lamar Collins and Joe Nebel Collins. Survivors include sons John A. Burney, Jr. (Vicki) of Milton, FL and Robert D. Burney, Sr. (Connie) of Terry; daughter Cheryl Elizabeth Cooley (Cody) of Leakesville; sister-in-law Pauline Collins; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
