Mary Ruth Husbands

Mary Ruth Hammons Husbands of Florence passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022, at her home in Florence. She was 77 years old.

Mrs. Husbands was born November 13, 1944, to the late William V. and Rozelle Goodner Hammons in Waco, TX. She retired from Jackson Eye Associates as a visual field technician. The most important thing to her was family. She always put other people’s needs before herself. She met the love of her life, her husband, Ronald in Del Rio, TX where he was stationed in the Air Force. She loved pets, especially her dog, Sandy, who was very dear to her heart.

Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Ronald Husbands, Sr.; her brothers, David and William Hammons; and her sister, Deloris Nickum. She is survived by her daughter, Kay (Chris) Nelson of Brandon; son, Ronald “Ronnie” Husbands, Jr. (Penny) of Houston, TX; sisters, Londa Deegan (John) of Houston, TX and Peggy J. Tinsley (David) of Waco, TX; grandchildren, Patrick Nelson, Garret Nelson, and Chelsea Lappe; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
