Mary Lois Gregory Thomason passed from this life into the next on Tuesday, the 21st of March 2023. She was born to Ethel Prestridge Gregory and Hilbun Gregory on July 19, 1939, in Hattiesburg, MS. She attended Jackson Public Schools. She met and married Billy E. Thomason on August 17, 1957. They went to Japan while Billy was stationed in the Air Force. The first two children, Randy Lee and Joe were born while in Japan. After returning to the States, they had another son, Mark Allan. In 2004, they moved from Jackson to Terry and called Terry her home for the next 19 years.
Lois worked in the Justice Court System for 17 years and for H&R Block for 25 years and 10 years in the State Treasurer office for the Church of God of Prophesy Chapter. She was active in the Church of God of Prophesy on Raymond Road, as a Sunday School teacher, mission leader and many other activities.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy; a son, Joe; and five siblings, Jerry, Demetra, Troy, Linda, and Charles.
She is survived by her two sons, Randy Lee Thomason(Angie) and Mark Allen Thomason(Pam). Along with her two children, there are six grandchildren, Andy Thomason(Adrienne), Amanda Oswalt(Justin), Alan Thomason(Meredith), Ashley Byrd(Jeremy), Brandon Thomason, and Ashley Ashley; and nine great grandchildren, Tanner, Brody, Carleigh, Tripp, Reece, Keegan, Ollie, Layla, and Paris.
The family will be receiving friends Thursday, March 23rd from 5-7 pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. There will be a visitation on Friday, March 24th from 9-10 am with the funeral service starting at 10am at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you donate in her honor to your local church or missions ministry.
