Mrs. Mary Catherine McGowan

Mrs. Mary Catherine McGowan Terry Mary Catherine McGowan, 87, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 4-6pm Sunday, January 24, 2016 and 10am until the 11am funeral service Monday, January 25, 2016, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Mrs. McGowan was born in Leake County, MS on June 22, 1928 to the late Riley Miller and Nonie Mattie May Miller. She was a housewife, prayer warrior and she loved Jesus. She had a great sense of humor. Mrs. McGowan was a humble woman of Integrity who loved her family unconditionally, without condemnation. She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Charles Raymond; her brother, James Miller; and her daughter, Peggy Roberts. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Major McGowan of Terry; two daughters, Ann (Pat) Russell of Florence; and Becky (Roger) Stubblefield of Granberry, TX; one brother, Sam Miller, of Pinola; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
