Mary Evelyn Langston Peoples entered her eternal rest in the arms of Jesus on July 13, 2011 at the age of 81. Visitation will be Friday evening, July 15th, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Chancellor's Funeral Home in Byram, MS and for one hour prior to service. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16th, First Baptist Church, Terry, MS, Dr. Mike Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Terry Cemetery, Terry, MS. \ Mary Evelyn was born January 16, 1930 in Jackson, MS. Her life was spent as a loving homemaker for her family. She was a lifelong member of The Sanctified Church. \ Mary Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents William Jeffery and Mertie Hogan Langston, a sister, Madge Lockhart, and her devoted husband of 40 years, Donald Ray Peoples. Survivors include two sons, Alvin Peoples (Elisa) of Columbus, Georgia, and Ronnie Peoples (Mary Lou) of Terry, MS, one daughter, Mary Linda Hacker of Terry, MS, ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
