Mattie Sistrunk

Mattie Bonnie Langston Sistrunk, affectionately known as Mattie B., born September 30, 1913, in Leake County/Carthage, MS to the late Alexander and Vernie Langston, resided in Jackson, MS for the past 62 years, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richmond Louis Sistrunk, Jackson, MS and her sons Truman Louis Sistrunk/Florence, MS, Paul Davis Sistrunk/Jackson, MS. Survivors include sons: Rayford O. Sistrunk Sr./Brandon, MS, Travis W. Sistrunk/Jackson, MS, and daughters: Margie Fondren/Georgetown, TX, Amanda Maddox/Lexington, TN, Delores Ivy/Clinton, MS and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was a charter member of First Pentecostal Church, Jackson, MS, where she enjoyed her ladies prayer group, and was an example of faithfulness. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm Thursday, February 7 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and Friday, February 8 from 9am until the 10am service at First Pentecostal Church, 5000 I-55 South.
