Mrs. Maurine Keyes

Mrs. Maurine Hawkins Keyes, 79, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Plain View Assisted Living in Richland. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2018 beginning at 12:00 noon with a 2:00 PM funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Interment will follow at the Richland City Cemetery. Mrs. Keyes was born in Weir, MS to the late L. D. and Mary Belle Hawkins on February 15, 1938. She worked as a coin operated telephone technician for Bell South for 35 years. Mrs. Keyes was a member of First Baptist Church in Richland. She loved fishing, cooking, and especially her family. Mrs. Keyes was preceded in death by her husband Benny Keyes. She is survived by her sons David Charles (Sheila) Crenshaw of Brandon and Joe Michael (Joan) Crenshaw of Brandon; her daughter, Teresa “Sissy” Williams also of Brandon; and her sister, Gay (Dan) Hunt of Weir; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the staff at Plain View Assisted Living for their loving care of Mrs. Keyes.
