Max Tommie Ainsworth, passed away on June 22, 2023, at the age of 95 at his home in Wesson, MS. He was born on July 4th, 1928, in Smith County, MS to Thomas Word Ainsworth and Oni Blakeney. He was a US Navy veteran who served on the USS Yuma. After a 25 year career as a truck driver for Chevron Oil, he was able to retire and spend his free time enjoying his family and working in his yard.
Max was a respected member of First Baptist Church of Byram and was known for his fabulous peanut brittle. He loved to make people laugh and had a dry sense of humor.
In his free time, Max loved to watch sports and old western movies. He loved every opportunity he had to see his grandchildren and enjoyed making memories with his family. Max's kind spirit touched many people throughout his long life.
Max is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years Eva Belle Ainsworth, daughter Margaret Easterling, and five siblings.
He is survived by his daughter Tommie Wyman of Wesson; a brother Jessie Lyn Ainsworth of Crystal Springs; four grandchildren Blakeney Wyman, Andrew Wyman, Hannah (Austin) Ragland, and Michael Easterling; along with many nephews, nieces, cousins, and close friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. The funeral service will be Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 10:00 am with an hour visitation before the service begins at Chancellor Funeral Home as well. Interment will follow the service at Lakewood South Memorial Park in Jackson.
