Mr. Michael "Mike" Eldon Byrd

Michael Eldon Byrd, 61, passed into the arms of Jesus on Friday, October 9, 2020 at University of MS Medical Center in Jackson. Mike was born August 26, 1959 in Shaw, MS. He loved helping people which led to a long career in Law Enforcement. After he retired, he continued to work as a Private Investigator and proudly served as the President of the Plantation Shores Home Owners Association. He loved his family, his friends, and his dog, “Champ”. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed going fishing. Mike is preceded in death by his parents “Papa Ray” and Sadie Howard. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Donna Byrd of Florence; son, Chase Sims of Florence; daughters, Alissa (Jonathan) Christopher of Raymond, Amber (Mallory) Skipper of Brandon, and Britney (fiancé, T.J. Walker) Byrd; brothers, Eddie (Kay) Byrd of Raymond and Ben Byrd of MS; grandchildren, Taylor Byrd, Bryce Christopher, Cooper Skipper, and Asher James Walker; his dog, Champ; and best friends, Karen and Joey Myers of Florence.
