Mr. Michael "Mike" Kelly Williams

Michael Kelly Williams, 66, passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-8pm Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be 11am Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Hinds Independent Methodist Church in Raymond, with a one hour visitation prior to service time at the church. Interment will follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Learned. Mr. Williams was born in Vicksburg, MS to the late George Jasper & Rosalee Williams. A Veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict, he received the Cecil Little Award in 1969. He was an F & AM Mason at the Auburn Lodge and was Safety Inspector for Marathon Letourneau in Vicksburg for a number of years. He retired from management of the U.S. Postal Service. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Homer Wayne “Pete” Williams. Survivors include his wife Shirley Williams of Learned; son Tim Williams of Learned; daughter Sonya (Brad) Williams Banes of Learned; brothers Leonard (Betty) Williams and Greg ( Lisé) Williams both of Learned; sister Shannon (Merrill) Whitehead and Mike’s heart, grandson Josh Banes.
