Michael "Kit" Walshock\ Jackson\ \ \ Michael "Kit" Walshock, 62, died Saturday July 30 at Baptist Hospital after a courageous 17-month battle with lung cancer.\ \ A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 6 at 11AM at St Therese Catholic Church, with visitation at the church at 10.\ \ Kit served in the US Army for 10 years, including a tour in Vietnam, and retired from the Ms Air National Guard in 2009 after 25 years of service. He was an avid Lionel model train collector, and enjoyed Nascar and Formula One racing.\ \ Kit leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Linda, whom he called the "sunshine in his window", and his daughter Kristin, 25, of Richland, whom he adored; stepdaughter, Traci Kelly of Oxford and her children Maygan and Samuel, and was especially close to step-daughter Mandy Dearman of Gluckstadt and her children Jobe and Emily Caine.\ \ In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Therese Church, 209 W McDowell Rd.
