Mr. Mikel Lawson

Mikel Lawson, 63, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at his home in Florence. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 1st from 5- 8 pm and Thursday, April 2nd from 10am until the 11am Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Mr. Lawson was a mechanic most of his adult life. He worked at Fowler Buick for 25 years as Supervisor over the mechanic shop. Mike was a devoted and loving husband, father and papaw. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Mr. Lawson is preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Lawson; father, Noah Lawson, Mother, Della Lawson; and brothers, Billy and Richard Lawson. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Eileen Lawson; daughter, Elizabeth Lawson Skeen (Mike); grandson, Michael Corey Lawson (Victoria); great grandchildren, Michael Lane Lawson and Alexis Marie Bridges; brothers, James Lawson, Elmer Lawson, Wayne Lawson, Rheuben Lawson, Johnny Lawson, and Larry Lawson; and sisters, Jean Moss, Diane Conn, Liz Webb, Joan Hunter, Elva Mae Lawson. He was like a father and papaw to many including: Samantha Skeen and her daughter, Layla; Christopher Skeen; Erin Skeen (Seth) and their son, Zedd; Penny Hopkins and her children; Amber Hill (Ricky) and her children Jayden and Brycen Hill; Amanda Hopkins (Heather); Matthew Teigen; Skye Wood; David Hopkins, Jr. (Jamie) and their children; and Jewelyonna and Hayden Hopkins.
