Mrs. Mildred Crain Brinson left this life to join her Heavenly Father on December 8, 2008.\ \ Mrs. Brinson was born on February 2, 1932. She was a lifelong resident of the Clear Branch community in Florence and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She retired from the Mississippi Crime Lab in October 1993.\ \ Mrs. Brinson was preceded in death by her parents: Joe and Elleen Crain, her brother, Joe D. Crain, Jr. and sister Sandra Crain.\ \ She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Frank Brinson; her two sons: Mike Brinson and Kirby (Vicki) Brinson, all of Florence; 4 grandchildren: Bobby Brinson, Shane (Jasmine) Brinson, Kimberly Brinson and Lauren (Jay) White all of Florence; 4 great-grandchildren: Olivia, Micah and Madden White and Rileigh Cox.; sisters: Lawanda Cook of Ocean Springs, Bessie Merle (WT) Floyd of Richland, Janice (Bobby Joe) Snell of Harrisville and brothers: Bennie Crain, James Lee (Paulette) Crain and John Earl (Donna) Crain all of Florence.\ \ Visitation will be Wednesday, December 10, from 5-8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and at the church 1 -2 p.m. Thursday prior to the services at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Interment in Clear Branch Cemetery.\ \ In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sanctuary Fund, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2081 White Road, Florence, MS 39073.
