Mrs. Mildred Carlisle

January 8, 1929 — October 24, 2018

Mildred Marie Rushing Carlisle, 89, of Bolton, passed away October 24, 2018, at her daughter’s residence in Summit, MS. Visitation will be Monday October 29, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until services at 1:00 p.m. at Bolton Baptist Church in Bolton, MS. Bro Cliff Nelson and Jack Albritton will officiate. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Clinton, MS. Mrs. Carlisle was born January 8, 1929, in Corinth, MS to Charlie Frank Rushing and Ola Mae Holden Rushing. She worked as the bookkeeper at the family owned service station for several years, then School Pictures and lastly at Gaddis & McLaurin, where she later retired. While in between working on the family farm and raising seven children, she was driving her own tractor and herding cattle. She was a homemaker, a talented seamstress, sewing and alterations not only for her family, but for the public. She loved gardening her flowers and watching the hummingbirds. She was an excellent cook; never knowing how many she was feeding, there was always plenty, but, was best known for her caramel and coconut cakes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tate C. Carlisle Jr.; parents, Charlie Frank Rushing and Ola Mae Holden Rushing of Coldwater, MS; son, James Wayne Carlisle; granddaughters, Sharon (Sheri) Carroll McHann and Kacey Marie Sasser; great-grandchild, Alexander (Alex) James Michaud; brothers, Pete Rushing and Otis Buel Rushing; sister; Frances Wilbanks; son-in-laws, Butch Berry and AC (Bucky) Owens. She is survived by sisters; Virgie Stone of Dallas,TX and Shirley Key of Independence, MS; sons and daughter-in-laws, Frank Carlton “Carl” (Joann) Carlisle of Branson, MO., Dr. Ricky “Rick” Joe (Kay) Carlisle of Grand Junction, TN., Brian Lee (Dionne) Carlisle of Marana, AZ., daughter-in-law Lydia Carlisle; daughters, Patsy “Pat” Berry of Elkin, NC.; Barbara Ann (Michael) Newman of Summit, MS and Ramona “Mona” Mae (Aaron) Roebuck of French Camp, MS; 15 grandchildren; Christy Michaud, Chuck Carlisle, Sheri McHann, Greg Carlisle, Adrienne Warren, Michelle Andersen, Kacey Sasser, Raney Fulcher, Ben Carlisle, Jordan Carlisle, Jonathon Newman, Kenneth Marz, Brittany Orr, Blake Carlisle, Stacey Jones. 29 great-grandchildren; special friend, Eva Ratcliff; along with numerous other relatives, friends and especially her fur baby PeeWee.
