Mildred Harrington

Mildred E. Harrington passed away January 16, 2025 at her home in Terry, MS. She was 90 years old. Mildred was born in Magee, MS on March 28, 1934 to the late Jessie and Iona Floyd Jones. Mildred is a former member of Corinth Baptist Church and then Wynndale Baptist Church before her health declined. Her hobbies included gardening, reading and devoting her time to the betterment of others. She will be remembered for her beautiful flower gardens, her handwritten copies of the entire Holy Bible and the program she founded for educating the youth; Hinds Enhanced Learning Program, where her legacy will live on for generations to come. Her life was a beautiful display of serving others. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James R. Harrington, Sr. and her son, Jesse Martin Harrington.

She is survived by her son, James R. Harrington, Jr.; granddaughters, Hope, Anne Elizabeth and Caroline Harrington and a special friend and care taker, Shannon Hopkins.

Funeral Services will be held at Corinth Baptist Church in Magee, MS on Thursday, January 23, 2025 with Dr. Jerry Smith officiating. Visitation starts at 9AM until 11AM with a graveside service at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery following the visitation.
