Mildred Jean McLaurin

On February 12, 2023, we lost our beloved sister, aunt and friend to many, Jean McLaurin.  She will be greatly missed by all her friends at Griffith Memorial Baptist Church where she has worshipped for over 20 years. Her hobbies included art, working in her yard, her cats, and especially quilting.

Jean McLaurin spent her working years in Atlanta, GA working for Piedmont Airlines where she had a great career working as a flight attendant. She also worked in “lost baggage” right before she retired and along the way she met many a movie star and famous people. She returned home in 1987 and retired near Byram and enjoyed being near her mother and sisters.

Jean McLaurin was survived by her sister Evelyn Hinton of Madison and her sister Pat Upchurch of Clinton and a special cousin Dr Dewey Myers of Jackson, along with many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Hugh Lavon McLaurin and Jewel Myers McLaurin as well as her sisters, Fran (Wayne) Bolton of Selmer, TN, Christine (Tony) Salvaggio of Baton Rouge, LA, and her only brother Oliver Theodore (Cora) McLaurin of Newton, MS.
