Modesta Gregory

Modesta (Dusty) Gregory, 82, a retired Mississippi Valley Gas employee, passed away peacefully April 6, 2011 at Riggs Manor in Raymond, MS. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2011 and one hour before the funeral. The funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram with burial to follow in Terry Cemetery. \ \ Dusty was born July 15, 1928 in McComb, MS to the late Jacob Shelby and Bernice Denman Sartin. She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clay Gregory, Jr. and her brother, J.W. Sartin. \ \ She attended Wynndale Baptist Church where she was a member of the Harold Blair Sunday School Class and Senior Adult Choir. She also participated in Wynndale Winners. She was a member of the Jackson Rose Society and enjoyed practicing her gardening skills at her home. \ \ Dusty is survived by a daughter, Pat Gerringer and husband John of Jacksonville, FL, and a son, Greg Gregory and wife Retha of Terry, MS; two sisters, Billie Fae and husband Edgar Ray Hinson of Natchez, MS and Bobbie Jean Statham of McComb, MS; three grandchildren, Mike Gerringer, Brittany Gregory McClellan, and Tyler Gregory; and four great-grandchildren, Sarah and Ethan Gerringer and Rebekka and Malachi McClellan.\ \ Memorial donations may be made to Wynndale Baptist Church Home Bound Ministries, 11287 Springridge Road, Terry, MS 39170 or MS Alzheimer's Association, 196 Charmant Place, Suite 4, Ridgeland, MS 39157.\
